The layout of the Original Soft Shell further reduces thickness by employing a side-by-side configuration. Instead of overlapping cards, two stacks are created which drastically reduces the overall thickness of a full wallet.

The footprint is a bit larger, but fits in both front and back pockets easily. Slots stretch and rebound so multiple cards can be placed in each one unlike the Tyvek version.

After an extensive search to find an ultra durable yet thin material, I tracked down a technical fabric mill capable of producing exactly what I was after. They create materials for such companies as The North Face®, Under Armour®, and even Gore®... the makers of Gore-Tex®. In order to fund the huge minimum quantity required to produce it, the Kickstarter community helped raise over $150k and the Soft Shell was born.

Originally created for motorcycle wear, the material was subjected to 70mph crash tests using real pavement during development. Its strength is derived by blending super-strong synthetics together at ultra-high weave densities. Like high thread count sheets, this stuff feels amazing.

Worth every penny!!

My husband is HARD on wallets - would blow out 2 leather wallets a year. Besides his wallet being crammed with cards and receipts, it takes a beating due to his work in construction. So in 2016 I decided to try a Slimfold Soft Shell. It’s been AMAZING! Just ordered a replacement - after 6 years rather than 6 months. The Slimfold is beat to heck - paint splattered, snagged, edges frayed, a cut in one corner, but it still holds everything in place and all the stitches are intact. I recommend Slimfold to everyone I know. If you’re thinking about it, pull the trigger. You won’t be disappointed.

Nice wallet

It arrived yesterday and I carried it all day today for the first time. I loaded it up - it was half as thick as my old leather bifold. However, it is noticably larger in length and width - it fits fine in front and back pockets, but its outline definitely shows in the front when standing or sitting. Cards fit snugly in the slots. Time will tell if the slots stretch, and if they do, I'll let you know Dave. But I like the product, and so far, I'm glad I bought it. Well done, FWIW, I felt like $10 for expedited shipping was a tad high - this thing weighs about an ounce. More as I learn it.....

PERFECT for a minimalist woman!

This is the BEST wallet EVER! 1. It's made in the US. 2. It is HIGH QUALITY construction. 3. It is SO THIN -- holds ALL my cards and enough cash, and just slips into my Kavu Rope bag without taking up ANY space! I was concerned about card security -- because it didn't have any clasp or zipper to hold it closed. But worries were completely unfounded. The slightly stretchy material holds the cards tight. They are NOT going ANYWHERE! This is the best wallet I've ever owned. Does everything it needs to do, and no wasted space. 4. Shipping was lightening fast. Could not be happier with this purchase. :)

Compact and super tough. I LOVE IT!!

If I could give this a 10 star review I would. I bought my slimfold wallet (original soft sell style, gray with orange stitching) in 2015. I've now had this wallet for nearly 8 years! If this wallet had a down side I'd say I always think I've lost my wallet because I can't feel it in my back pocket. It is such a great wallet! With how light and thin the wallet was I had my doubts about its durability. If any of you are considering a compact wallet that fits well in the back pocket and is tough as nails you need to buy this wallet. My wallet shows virtually no signs of wear and tear. All stitching is still fully intact and there are zero tears or wear on the soft shell material. I am very impressed with this wallet and in the event I may need a new wallet I will not hesitate to purchase this wallet again.
