I became obsessed with finding a wallet that was thin enough to go in my front pocket along with an iPhone without creating a big bulge. I refined the design by creating over 100 prototypes, learning to sew in the process. By arranging the cards next to each other, the thickness was cut in half!

I originally became interested in Tyvek, the ultra rip-resistant FedEx mailing envelope material, back in high school when the local bank gave me a Tyvek sleeve along with my first credit card. It lasted over ten years and I still have it.

Once the final wallet and patterns were ready, they were produced at a local printer with the special press needed to print on Tyvek. The ink is earth-friendly zero VOC and the process itself uses no water. The sewing is also completed locally by a professional seamstress on industrial equipment. I'm really happy with the quality of the wallet and I hope you give it a try.

Return Policy: 30 Days Unused with Packaging

While the official policy is that we don’t want you to have used your wallet if you want to return it, we also understand you want to feel it before making a final decision. Both our Tyvek and Soft Shell wallets are different from traditional ones and almost everyone likes them better than they thought they would based on just seeing the photos online.

Our return policy is pretty straightforward- as the designer and producer of this wallet, I want you to be happy with it but if you do return it I’d ideally like for it to be in new condition so it’s not a loss for me. 30 days is just a guideline and we make exceptions for gifts and global nomads. Since the card slots in the Original Tyvek are precision cut and stretch upon first use to grab the cards, please try to refrain from using the slots if you’re unsure about keeping it, but you can go ahead and move your stuff into the other models.

If you do want to return or exchange something, just hang onto your packaging and reply to the order confirmation to let us know.

Warranties

Our products are made in San Francisco and we stand behind their quality construction. If any items are defective upon receipt, just let us know as soon as possible and we’ll replace it.

Soft Shell: 5 Year Warranty

Our Soft Shell material was engineered for ultimate durability and come with a 5 year manufacturer warranty if purchased from an authorized distributor (such as from SlimFold itself) in new condition. This doesn’t mean it’s impossible for the item to wear out, but we do guarantee that it won’t structurally fail on you because of a manufacturing defect. The warranty IS transferrable if you pass it down to your kid or give it as a gift, but not if the product is re-sold.

Products purchased from other distributors CAN NOT be guaranteed to be authentic OR in new condition (even if listed as “new”) and therefore DO NOT qualify for the manufacturer warranty.

Tyvek: $5 Lifetime Refresh Program

Upon their introduction, our Tyvek wallets became the world’s thinnest wallet and has kept the crown ever since. Like jeans, the material wears in and fades over time, becoming softer and molding to what’s in it. Since our initial Kickstarter campaign, we introduced plastic reinforcements which keep them looking newer for longer. They generally last longer the fewer cards are held. Since they now have a loyal following, many customers use a wallet until they feel like swapping it out for a “fresh” one so we’ve introduced the “refresh” program.

Instead of imposing a time limit, it’s essentially a standing $5 credit towards your next Tyvek wallet… or you can upgrade to the Soft Shell at any point and apply the credit. Yep, after you get your first refresh, you still qualify for another refresh the next time! You don’t need to return your old one either, as we encourage “down-cycling” by using it for extra cards or receipts.

We’re not super automated at the moment so to take advantage of the refresh program just place your order and then reply to the order confirmation saying you’d like to use your refresh… we'll pull up your previous order info and apply your credit.
