Have you ever worked on a project that took way longer than you thought it would? My products normally take a long time to refine but the Coin Wallet was an outlier even by my standards.
In fact, the video was shot and we were ready to launch a year ago … but I wasn’t seeing the consistency I wanted. Changes needed to made.
While I could have gone ahead and launched the Kickstarter back then and figured out the rest of the details during manufacturing, I didn’t want to bring backers along on that journey when I didn’t really know how long it would take.
After all, some uncertainty is expected with Kickstarter projects, but it’s only fair that if I provide an estimated completion date, it’s based on a plan. By holding off on the release, it allowed us to take the necessary time to get it right.
If you’ve ever backed a kickstarter project and been disappointed to read updates about delays and setbacks, just know that I've spared you a lot of drama :)
A year later and over 100 MORE prototypes later, the current production model is better in every way. The design has been modified to be easier to make more consistently, and more accurate manufacturing processes are being used.
Essentially, the product on Kickstarter now is Version 2.0 and I’m super happy with it. My family, friends, and mentors know that it’s been a rollercoaster behind the scenes though! It was really only after letting go and being open to the possibility of not making the product at all that things started coming together.
Thanks to your support, the project was funded in under 4 hours! I can’t thank you enough and am looking forward to getting them in your hands!
