We recently surveyed our Beta Crew testers and other customers about what they carry, how they use our products, and what they'd like to see next. With over 500 responses from 38 countries, we're in the process of analyzing all the detailed feedback folks provided but I wanted to share a few interesting insights that jumped out so far:
U-Shaped Phone Payment
For those of you who use phone payment, you do it almost all the time. However, a big segment of you either never or almost never do.
One wrinkle to this was that the usage differed a lot depending on location. US adoption is much slower. Perhaps it'll catch on late here like SMS and QR codes did.
Using cards to tap was a bit more evenly dispersed and there wasn't much different between the regions. There are a couple of other things to account for- like the people to pay with their phone may not tap with their cards... or tap to pay with cards may be less available in certain countries.
Card Case Curious
The term “card case" seemed to raise more questions than answers. It could mean a lot of things and your comments most clearly said what it should not be…
"Please DO NOT just do a soft shell Ridge 🤦"
"I have tried a few rigid cases and they all got sold on eBay."
Coin Wallet Tribe
Interest in the Coin Wallet wasn’t that high when you average things out, yet it got a lot of “extremely interested in “votes... especially for international folks, which makes sense. It could be something to revisit at some point!
"I love my coin wallet! I understand the unique difficulties in manufacturing it, but you really nailed the usability."
The other funny thing was how many of you mentioned that my business model is terrible because the wallets last for 5–10 years!
Which is part of the point of seeing what else you might want me to make.
There is a ton of other qualitative data to look at but these are a few of the things that jumped out right away. If you have another idea you’d like me to add to the roadmap, leave a comment below to let me know.

@Jorge yeah that certainly is a trend… I tend to carry a couple of bills for back-up but rarely need them.
It seems to swing the other way a bit too though as @Brian and @Bob say where they still have a need for coins.
Another one from the Coin Wallet Tribe. We need the Cokn Wallet please 🙏
I didn’t participate but if I did I’m totally in on the coin wallet. Would love a slim coin wallet.
I carry zero cash just the phone. Went to Norway recently, no cash there either they get annoyed if you want to pay with cash.
Thanks Allen! Appreciate the perspective! Yeah the Coin Wallet is handy for travel as well so good for US folks too.
I am definitely with the ‘Coin Wallet Tribe’ even though I live in US but I travel overseas often.
